Apart from being able to walk outside right onto the Playa Honda beach, only a few meters in front of your holiday apartment, you will be spoilt for choice with an extensive offer of beaches in this area. There are beaches all around you, including many other Mar Menor beaches plus miles of Mediterranean beaches.
The Mar Menor beaches are separated from the Mediterranean beaches by a 22 km long strip of land that connects both seas through a channel – La Manga del Mar Menor.

So many beaches, coves, magical spots to discover - you will be spoilt for choice!
The uniqueness of the Mar Menor, the biggest saltwater lagoon in Europe, lies in its warm shallow waters free from tides or currents, its unique eco-system and how it gently slopes to a depth of only 7 miles deep in the center. In fact, in some spots, it’s even possible to wade out to a distance of 50 meters from the shore with the water barely reaching chest level.
Walk down towards the left of the apartment and past the camping facilities to come to the Mar de Cristal Beach. If you walk towards the right along the Playa Honda beach that looks across the Mar Menor to La Manga, you will find that it extends into Playa Paraíso.
The old Salt Flats of Marchamalo, where you can spot some migratory flamingos, are also just around the corner from Playa Honda and Playa Paraíso.
Keep going along the beach to Playa de los Alemanes at the southern end of La Manga Del Mar Menor or head towards Cabo De Palos (the tourist information point is located at KM0).
KM18 is the far end of La Manga and along the strip you will find many beautiful beaches, both on the Mar Menor side as well as the Mediterranean side, being able to walk from one side to the other at many points along the strip!

Also very nearby, just a few minutes away, Cabo De Palos and Isla Hormigas Marine reserve offer you numerous and amazing options, whether you opt for stretches of beach with fine golden sand such as the Playa de Levante, La Curva, private hidden coves, pebble beaches, diving spots, rock jumping, snorkeling, water sports… so many interesting spots to discover!
